Tammy Filipiak, RDH, MS, was one of eight recipients of the 2003 Sunstar/RDH Award of Distinction. She was honored at the RDH Under One Roof conference in Chicago that year along with Mary Bobbett, RDH, Suzan W. Chopik, RDH, Michelle Hurlbutt, RDH, BS, Kelli Swanson-Jaecks, RDH, BSDH, Deborah Krueger, RDH, BS, Tracey Thompson McGonagle, RDH, BS, and Linda Mann, RDH.
Filipiak recently wrote of the award: "Winning the Sunstar/RDH Award of Distinction was truly and honor. I was inspired by my fellow recipients and the things that dental hygienists do each day to make a difference in the overall health and wellness for patients. Being a recipient of this award has allowed me to build valuable friendships with not only my fellow recipients of 2003 but with those who have won the award in subsequent years.
