GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, makers of Sensodyne®, the number one U.S. dentist and hygienist recommended toothpaste for dentin hypersensitivity, announces the Search for America's Most Sensitive Dental Practices -- a national hunt for the dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and support staff who are most sensitive to their patients' needs, and proudest to show their sensitive sides. Participants in the search will have the opportunity to receive product samples, chairside education aids, materials for practice promotion and recognition on www.dental-professional.com.
The Search for America's Most Sensitive Dental Practices will launch at the ADA Annual Session in Las Vegas, from October 16-19. There, dental professionals can visit the interactive kiosk at the GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare booth (#7109) and answer questions on such topics as how their practice treats dentin hypersensitivity, helps patients feel comfortable during dental procedures, and sensitively addresses special needs. Participants in the search will receive a Sensodyne-themed takeaway gift.
"We know that sensitivity is a quality that sometimes goes unrewarded in dentistry," said Ronald L. Rupp, DMD, senior manager for professional relations, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare. "We want to seek out and recognize those dental practices that go the extra mile to provide sensitive patient care. We also want to give dental professionals the information and tools they need to help dentin hypersensitivity sufferers -- some 22 percent of adults -- feel more comfortable."
The search coincides with a nationwide consumer promotion, the Sensodyne Sensitivity Challenge, which is traveling to state fairs and festivals from April until October. Dentists can encourage their sensitive patients to visit a local Sensitivity Challenge event or log on to www.sensodynesearch.com, where they can submit a video for a chance to be named the Sensodyne Sensitive Star, and receive an opportunity to appear in a national Sensodyne advertising campaign.
