Dr. Janet Hatcher Rice of Bristol, Va./Tenn., was among 400 dental leaders who gathered at the 11th Annual Conference of the Academy of Laser Dentistry in Palm Springs, Calif., to learn about the expanding role of lasers in dental care. Presentations included the laser's role in caries prevention, diagnostics, and restoration.
During the meeting, Dr. Rice was inducted as the first female president. Dr. Rice called on the members to "spread the word" about the benefits of laser technology to the profession and the public. Her slogan for this call to action is, "It's Time!"
