OSAP to co-sponsor course in Atlanta in January

The Fourth Annual Intermediate-Level Infection Control and Occupational Safety and Health Course will be held from Jan. 24-27, 2005, in Atlanta, Ga.

The Organization for Safety and Asepsis Procedures (OSAP) and the Air Force, Army, Navy, Public Health Service and Veterans Administration, will present the 4th Annual Intermediate-Level Infection Control and Occupational Safety and Health Course from Jan. 24-27, 2005, in Atlanta, Ga.

Targeted at dental healthcare workers, educators and consultants, including federal dental services personnel with responsibilities in infection control and occupational health/safety, the comprehensive four-day program will be a combination of lecture and hands-on participation. Attendees will receive up to 27 CE credit hours recognized by the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association (ADA CERP).

The course goals are to verify competency in dental infection control and safety principles, provide the latest information on the implementation and management of effective infection control and occupational health and safety programs emphasizing infectious diseases and occupational risks, ensure participants understand and can implement behavioral change theory in their training endeavors, and achieve a consistent level of competency among dental infection control trainers.

This course is applicable to various healthcare and dental industry professionals including dental practice infection control coordinators; faculty of dental schools, dental hygiene programs and dental assisting programs; HMOs; dental insurers; dental manufacturers and distributor sales/marketing staff; dental infection control consultants; infection control nurses who work closely with dental clinics; and federal dental services dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and laboratory technicians who have been assigned responsibilities in infection control and occupational health/safety.
