DentalEZ to present roundtable seminar on posture

Nov. 22, 2005
Discussion at upcoming New York Dental Meeting will explain the health and productivity benefits of maintaining proper posture in the dental office.

DentalEZ Group will be offering an American Dental Assistants Association-sponsored seating seminar from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 27 in Room 1E15 of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center at the upcoming Greater New York Dental Meeting.

Titled "Proper Positioning for a Healthier Work Environment," this presentation provides a detailed overview of proper seating posture and positioning and discusses the many steps dental assistants can take to increase their comfort and productivity in the dental office.

Main topics of discussion include:

*Are you adapting yourself to fit your environment or adapting your environment to fit you?

*How improving the relationship between you and your environment can reduce or eliminate physical problems and mental stress.

*How to increase productivity in a healthy way.

Aggie Pennington, Senior Product Manager of the DentalEZ Group, developed the seminar, which she originally presented at the 2004 Chicago Midwinter Meeting.

"Many dental assistants do not know how to sit properly and find it hard to keep their bodies in ergonomically friendly positions throughout the workday," explained Pennington.

"Fortunately, something as simple as sitting on an ergonomically designed stool can help alleviate and often eliminate fatigue and pain. To a dental assistant, this can mean the difference between enjoying their job and truly loving it."

Additional ADAA-sponsored Seating Seminar Roundtables will be scheduled during major dental meetings throughout 2006.
