Your donations helped dental assistants after Hurricane Harvey
Thanks to the generous donations from many dental assistants, two of their peers received some much needed relief money to help them recover from Hurricane Harvey.

WE ASKED, AND DENTAL ASSISTANTS AND TEAM MEMBERS AROUND THE COUNTRY ANSWERED THE CALL. Now, IgniteDA, RevenueWell, and DentistryIQ want to tell you “the rest of the story” about two dental assistants who so many of you helped recently with your generous actions.
When Hurricane Harvey slammed into south Texas in late August and caused so much devastation, we knew that there would be dental practices and dental assistants who would be affected by the disaster. Rather than just send thoughts and prayers, IgniteDA wanted to do more. That is why we teamed up with RevenueWell and DentistryIQ to form a GoFundMe account to help dental assistants who were in need.
In all, we raised about $600. Donations came in from all over the country, dental assistants, and others who wanted to help people they had never met. While that may not seem like a lot of money, it meant the world to Gloria Gonzales and Veronica Gonzalez, who are dental assistants at Echeverri Dental Center in Houston.
The aftermath
Gloria and Veronica both lost their homes during the flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey. While they are figuring out their next steps, Veronica is staying with her family (husband and two-year-old daughter) at her sister’s place. Gloria has been staying with friends throughout this time. Neither one of them is settled and they are still in the rebuilding process.
Through your generosity, each one of them received a $300 check to help with whatever bills they need to pay and whatever is needed to help them through this difficult time.
“I want to thank you for your very generous gift,” Veronica said. “In these difficult times, it has been hard to stay focused on the positive, but with your help, I was reminded of all the good in people. Thank you.”
“Words cannot express how grateful I am for the gift you and your friends sent me,” said Gloria. “All the help we’ve received has kept us strong, and a gift from a stranger is so very special. Thank you so much.”
At IgniteDA, we believe in the power of dental assistants. We also believe in the power of dental assistants to be a force for change and good, in and out of the dental practice. Your response to the crisis in south Texas is proof of that.
Thank you to each of you who helped these two amazing assistants, and thank you to RevenueWell and DentistryIQ for helping make a hopeful thought become an inspirational reality.
