DANB and the DALE Foundation celebrate orthodontic assistants

Orthodontic Staff Appreciation Week is June 6 – 10, and this week provides orthodontists and the oral health care community the opportunity to let staff know just how much their hard work and dedication means to the team, the office, and the patients. And one of the most important staff roles in any orthodontic office is the dental assistant.

Dental assistants who work in an orthodontic office are in a unique position to impact patients’ lives and smiles. “I love working in ortho,” says Maryann M., CDA. “Watching patients go from the beginning of their treatment to the end is great—it’s a great feeling to assist in taking off someone’s braces and watch them skip out the door.”

The Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB) recognizes the important role that orthodontic assistants play in the office, and offers resources to help them advance their careers. Earning DANB’s Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA) certification can help orthodontic assistants stand out in their profession, and take their careers to the next level.
