Coronavirus impact on dental practices: Will dental hygiene move back in time after COVID-19? (Video)

April 16, 2020
Dr. Pamela Maragliano-Muniz interviews Debbie Zafiropoulos, RDH, about the aerosol discussion currently being held among dental professionals. How will this affect dental teams when they return to their practices?

In this latest video from Pamela Maragliano-Muniz, DMD, she begins to focus on bringing value back to dental practices. It has not set well with her that dental offices are classified as “nonessential” businesses during the pandemic. But in the name of safety, she and her peers have taken shutting down seriously. She interviews Debbie Zafiropoulos, RDH, or “Debbie Z” as she is known, founder of the National Cancer Network, about whether dental hygiene will be forced back in time after the pandemic.

The use of aerosols is being questioned during this time, and Zafiropoulos is an expert in guided biofilm therapy (GBT). Dr. Maragliano-Muniz asks her, how do dental practices move forward from this, and how do they provide the best care while keeping patients and aerosols safe in the practice? Zafiropoulos shares her insights for teams to use when they return to their practices.
