Coronavirus impact on dental practices: Attention hygienists—a message from the ADHA [Video]

April 3, 2020
ADHA president Matt Crespin, MPH, RDH, shares what the ADHA has been doing for dental hygienists during the past three weeks, and what RDHs can watch for in the future.

The latest in the DentistryIQ video series about COVID-19 offers a shout out to dental hygienists. American Dental Hygienists Association president Matt Crespin, MPH, RDH, talks with Dr. Pamela Maragliano-Muniz about how the ADHA is responding to office closures.

He said the organization has been in constant communication with hygienists from across the nation, and "We appreciate hearing from them," he said. The ADHA set up a dedicated email to field questions due to impact of this virus on the profession. They've received hundreds of questions a day since setting this up over two weeks ago, and they respond to all of them.

The ADHA is encouraging all hygienists to file for unemployment, and to learn their state requirements in that area. But many are wondering whether they'll be included an relief packages. Therefore the ADHA is advocating for hygienists in this regard. Watch what else Matt discusses.
