Products for coping with pandemic-related challenges: Monarch product line from Air Techniques

June 5, 2020
In this series, Dr. Howard Glazer looks at products that can help practices during these challenging times. Here he reviews the Monarch line of infection control and skin care products.

Air Techniques is perhaps best known for compressors and digital film processing, namely phosphor-plate technology, but they also have an infection control product line. Known for quality and innovation, Air Techniques’ Monarch infection control products are designed to protect you, staff, patients, and your equipment. The Monarch line includes products for surface disinfection, enzymatic cleaners for instruments, water line and evacuation line disinfection, and hand hygiene products that leave skin feeling silky smooth. I enjoy the hand sanitizer gel with its aloe and vitamin B formulation, available in a convenient pump bottle. The protective hand lotion contains vitamins E and B, as well as aloe, and leaves your hands smooth and actually facilitates putting on gloves.

We are all well aware of the importance of water line and high-speed evacuation line cleanliness, and Monarch’s products can be used weekly to clean and deodorize without the worry of corrosion. For surface disinfection, we use the spray and wipes that contain 72.5% ethanol and .33% didecyldimethylammonium chloride. This formulation is a one-step, 60-second solution for microorganisms as a fungicidal, bactericidal, virucidal, and tubercidal product. It is a non-staining, residue-free, quick-drying product absent any obnoxious chemical odor.

All in all, the Monarch product line serves as a comprehensive arsenal for protecting our equipment, staff, and patients.
