The "Message in a Bottle Mailbag" is a monthly feature of the e-newsletter, Pearls for Your Practice: The Product Navigator. Each month, Editorial Director Joshua Austin, DDS, FAGD, answers reader-submitted questions to help you navigate your dental and hygiene product decisions (and more!). This month, he shares an update on his experiences with Weave and offers his take on the 2016 presidential primary season.
QUESTION: Layton from Kansas City wrote: I read something you wrote about Weave a few months ago. Have you been using it since then? What are your thoughts now?
ANSWER:
Thanks for checking in about Weave, Layton. Yes, I have been using Weave since the original article came out, and things have really settled into a nice groove. The system has been fully operational for the past few months, and the software integrates well with my practice management system. Downtime is now minimal, and things are working the way they should, so it seems. I have become a big fan of the software, and my staff seems to enjoy the features it has. Weave recently added a "Reviews" feature that keeps track of your various online review platforms—such as Yelp, Google+, and Facebook—and allows you to quickly text patients a review invitation link. That is a super cool feature that I think is worth the cost. Overall, I am very happy that I switched to Weave!

QUESTION:
Bernard from Florida asked: What is your take on the Republican and Democratic primaries?
ANSWER:
Whoa, whoa, whoa, Bernard! I don’t think I’m supposed to talk politics here, and that's probably a good thing, so I will refrain from answering your original question. I'll say that I do enjoy all of the comedy being mined from this primary season. No matter who the nominees are, I know that the real winners are us for all of the laughing we get to do at the candidates' expense!
