Hu-Friedy has introduced the Giles de Quincey Tunneling Instruments and Allen Membrane Measurement Card as part of its surgical instruments offering.
Developed in conjunction with Netherlands-based dental surgeon Dr. Giles de Quincey, the modified tunneling instruments can be used to reduce pressure and enhance access when tunneling the tissue to the mucogingival junction. Instruments are available in two different angulation options.
The benefits of the tunneling instruments include:
- Smooth, dull working ends for a reduced risk of perforation during tunneling procedures
- Performance-engineered coating for a harder, smoother surface and enhanced lubricity
- Black finish for contrast and visual acuity at the surgical site and underlying tissue
- Surgical-grade stainless steel for optimal strength and corrosion resistance
The Allen Membrane Measurement card was developed with Dallas-based periodontist Dr. Pat Allen. It can be used as a sturdy, sterilizable surface for measuring and trimming membrane material.
Features of the Allen Membrane Measurement card include:
- Flat, hard cutting surface that cleans easily with steam sterilization and ultrasonic cleaning
- Compact size and shape for procedural setups
- Surgical-grade stainless steel for longevity and corrosion resistance
