J. Morita USA introduces the AdvErL Evo, an Er:YAG laser. The AdvErL Evo is effective for a wide variety of applications on both hard and soft tissue and is clinically ideal for periodontal treatment.
The AdvErL Evo eliminates the vibration of a high-speed handpiece, providing a comfortable laser treatment option. Its wavelength is readily absorbed by water and efficiently vaporizes soft tissue. This unit is versatile and offers a wide variety of tip options, including an extensive selection for periodontal procedures. Applications include removal of: subgingival calculus; diseased, infected, inflamed, and necrosed soft tissue within the periodontal pocket; and granulation tissue from bony defects. The laser can also be used for soft tissue curettage, sulcular debridement, and osseous crown lengthening.

Most notably, the AdvErL Evo has been studied and recognized clinically in the effective treatment of peri-implantitis. With use of the AdvErL Evo, a method has been found to regenerate tissue and permanently remove bacteria with a low-heat treatment process. Information about this study and other peer-reviewed clinical articles can be found at morita.com/usa/laser.
In terms of patient benefits, the AdvErL Evo is virtually painless. Compared to other laser types, the AdvErL Evo causes far less trauma, as vaporization is concentrated at the surface of the tissue. The energy does not penetrate and damage deep layers of tissue, nor does it disperse widely to the adjacent area around the irradiation target.
“The AdvErL Evo all-tissue laser is a significant addition to Morita’s portfolio of clinical solutions,” commented Travis Harrison, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Morita has been involved in laser research for over 30 years and is now on its third generation of laser technology production. Refined, practical, and clinically proven to be effective for both hard and soft tissue procedures, this unit is what all dental professionals have been waiting for. With published clinical indications of proven effectiveness, the AdvErL Evo all-tissue laser provides clinicians alternative treatment options to combat the likes of biofilm and peri-implantitis to the level that conventional technologies cannot match. With little to no heat generation, the AdvErL Evo Er:YAG 2940 nm wavelength allows for direct interaction surface decontamination, separating itself from all other laser systems."
