A-dec has been recognized among Oregon’s “Most Admired Companies” by executives throughout the region. The honor is part of Portland Business Journal’s annual survey based on innovation, management, community involvement, quality of products and services, and branding and marketing.

For 2013, A-dec was named third “Most Admired” manufacturer and the fifth best company overall. Winners were based on the responses from 550 executives throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.
A-dec’s third-place honor for “Traditional Manufacturing” followed first- and second-place winners Nike Inc. and Columbia Sportswear Co. For “Most Admired Across All Industries,” Nike Inc. received the top award, followed by Intel, Columbia Sportswear, and Oregon Health & Science University.

A-dec was founded in 1964 by husband and wife team Ken and Joan (pronounced Jo-Ann) Austin. A-dec will soon be celebrating its 50-year anniversary and its legacy of “quality through caring.” The half-century milestone will conclude in February 2015, which marks the date when the young Austin couple drafted their first paychecks as employees.
Today, A-dec’s 50-acre Newberg headquarters is home to more than 1,000 employees who manufacture and market equipment to dental professionals worldwide. A-dec also has facilities in the United Kingdom, Australia, and China, which support an extensive network of authorized dealers in more than 100 countries worldwide.
