Hoxie comes to the organization with more than 43 years of experience as a health-care executive. His experience has focused upon issues of quality patient care, competency assessment, fraud and abuse, and consulting on health-care organizational operations. “After an extensive and thorough executive search, the board is confident in Mr. Hoxie’s talents,” ABOMS Vice President Dr. GE Ghali stated. “His experience has proven excellence in certification. He is a former chief staff executive for the geriatric pharmacy board and the orthotics and prosthetics professional certification board. He has experience as the senior director for the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations’ ambulatory and managed care accreditation programs. Hoxie has worked with a number of national medical and specialty organizations, including the American Medical Association, American Hospital Association, American College of Physicians, and American College of Surgeons. In addition to his background in health care, he has advised federal and state agencies in the development of quality and performance standards for health-care providers. CHICAGO, Illinois--The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the certifying board for the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery in the United States, has named Lance Hoxie as executive vice president.
