Baird Equity Research has released the latest dental survey findings for August 2013. The newest survey, “August 2013 Dental Survey Shows Continued Patient Volume Improvements,” suggests that trends continue into the third quarter with a “sluggish” equipment demand.
Improvements lie with increased patient volumes, better than last month and at their second highest level in the past four years. Here’s the breakdown:
- Domestic dental end market improvements that emerged in the second quarter will likely continue into the third
- If patient volumes continue as suggested in the survey, a three to four percent growth in dental consumables could be the result for HSIC, PDCO, and XRAY
- Dentists’ dental equipment spending outlook remains cautious, but the demand could improve by the end of this year or in early 2014
