The company will celebrate its growth from a family-run, grassroots small business to an international industry leader with a week’s worth of celebrations, including an employee picnic, game day, video presentation, and family movie night. Dr. Dan Fischer will also speak at the kickoff event, reminiscing about Ultradent’s more than three decades in business.
After graduation from Loma Linda University and beginning a practice, Dr. Dan Fischer invented and patented his hemostatic solution, Astringedent, in 1976 as an answer to the need for a tissue management product that achieved more rapid, profound hemostasis. His desire to market the invention and to continue to develop more advanced dental solutions led him to found Ultradent Products in 1979—setting the pace for a succession of products that today includes a range of dental materials.
Business grew rapidly, and Ultradent expanded from a family-only home operation to its current 310,000-square-foot, two-building facility in South Jordan—a facility that houses more than 1,000 employees. The company has also garnered an international presence, operating nine offices and distribution centers worldwide, including subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, and South America.
Beyond the dental community, Ultradent donates products to humanitarian efforts locally, nationally, and internationally. Additionally, Ultradent sponsors a nonprofit organization, the Diversity Foundation, a progressive outreach program committed to preventing hate crimes and intolerance. The program promotes diversity and fosters multicultural awareness among individuals from all backgrounds.
