The Bureau of Labor Statistics' Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates Survey, based on May 2011 salary and employment data gathered from approximately 1.2 million businesses in all industry sectors for about 800 occupations, reports that the second rarest profession is that of prosthodontist. According to the report, there are 560 of these dental specialists across the United States, and they earn on average $130,820 per year.
