HealthIT.gov has published an infographic on electronic health records, or EHRs. Although the information is focused on medical rather than dental, there are several important take-aways from the graphic that dentists should consider:
- Two out of three people would consider switching to a doctor that offers access to medical records online
- The use of EMR/EHR systems by doctors grew from 18% in 2001 to 57% in 2011
- People who are more engaged in their health actually get better health care
Take a look at the infographic to find out more about where the health industry is headed in regards to emerging technologies.
