SDI, pediatric dentists helping HSHC Access to Care initiatives $4 at a time

CHICAGO (October 29, 2012) – Recognizing Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children’s (HSHC), the Foundation of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), expanding work supporting initiatives providing oral care for underserved children, SDI North America has kicked off a cause-marketing campaign donating $4 for every purchase of its 50-count packages of Riva glass ionomers. The 12-month campaign is projected to generate at least $30,000 in contributions from SDI to HSHC. “Pediatric dentists do so much to help children and we’re proud to provide the tools and materials that help with patient care,” said Laura Woodruff, SDI North America USA sales manager. “Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children is helping kids who aren’t fortunate enough to have regular oral care, and we want to help the Foundation bridge that gap.” SDI is contributing $4 on all sales of its 50-count Riva glass ionomers through September 30, 2013. As part of the campaign, SDI will promote support of Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children in all of its Riva advertising. “The financial contribution is tremendous, and SDI promoting HSHC in its advertising will help us reinforce our messages to the dental profession,” said HSHC President David Curtis, DMD. “This is a great way for dentists treating children to receive the great products they use every day in their practices while supporting the Foundation.” In addition to their national advertising outreach, SDI field representatives will be promoting their support of the Foundation during their office visits to their dental customers. The campaign will utilize multiple outreach channels. “While dentists’ use of Riva products will help the Foundation one purchase at a time, SDI’s reps will also be helping spread the word about our Access to Care efforts,” said HSHC Development Director Paul Amundsen, CFRE. Amundsen encouraged dentists to continue their direct support of HSHC, knowing their use of the Riva line will further enhance the Foundation’s Access to Care work.
