Program helps children in need, provides dentists with marketing tools
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina--National Children’s Oral Health Foundation: America’s ToothFairy has announced launch of the Dentist of Distinction Program.
Sponsored by Wells Fargo Practice Finance and chaired by NCOHF Board Member Dr. Gordon Christensen, the program provides dentists with a philanthropic opportunity and marketing tools to highlight their commitment to support delivery of oral health services for children in need.
Participating dentists receive practice-building resources including news releases, videos, material for newsletters and social media, and an oral health education kit for use in community outreach activities. These tools are designed to build awareness of their leadership in oral health promotion throughout their community and generate positive publicity for practices.
Dentists have two options to qualify as a Dentist of Distinction.
They can make an annual contribution to NCOHF: America’s ToothFairy supporting the delivery of oral health services for at-risk children, or donate professional services for at-risk youth in their communities. (Volunteer dentists for NCOHF: America’s ToothFairy programs are not required to make a financial contribution.)
“We are proud to partner with National Children’s Oral Health Foundation: America’s ToothFairy in this exciting program,” said Allison Farey, president of Wells Fargo Practice Finance.
“As an underwriter, we see this program as a wonderful giving opportunity that enables dentists to highlight their commitment to expand oral health within their communities.”
Added Dr. Gordon Christensen, NCOHF board member and director and founder of Practical Clinical Courses: “I am proud to serve as chair of the NCOHF Dentist of Distinction Program highlighting the dedication of dentists to improving the oral health of all children and their families. The Dentist of Distinction Program provides dentists with tools to increase exposure among current and potential patients while helping at-risk children in need of vital oral health services.”
According to Fern Ingber, NCOHF president and CEO: “We are grateful to our generous underwriter, Wells Fargo Practice Finance, for its sponsorship of this exciting program showcasing the commitment of dentists to improving oral health for their communites and for underserved children throughout North America.
