The American Dental Assistants Association is all about education and always has been. When our roots were planted in 1924, it was with the objective of establishing the dental assistant as a professional member of the dental team. This was to be accomplished through education and recognition. Well, both of those things are in the news right now!
Dental Assistants Recognition Week is March 4 through 10. This annual event is a joint effort of the ADA, the ADAA, Canadian DA, and Canadian DAA as an opportunity to recognize the vital contributions of dental assistants to the dental team. I hope you’ll visit our website and download the kit that will give you and your practice, school, or professional group some solid ideas about how to effectively gain deserved recognition. Would you please take a minute to tell us what you did and how it turned out?
In addition to providing dental assistants with the recognition they deserve, we are also here to provide them with top-notch education. So, we here at ADAA kicked off the year by making our education free and unlimited to our active and student members — and that also means no test fees when the education is online. With this one-stop shopping marvel of free, unlimited, online education, members can fill their cart with all of the CE they need for recertification, registration, and professional development. It’s all there and included in the dues.
Our education is tested and respected everywhere. Our journal, the Dental Assistant, supplements our more formal educational efforts and keeps assistants informed about product developments, oral health issues, and the ADAA’s news and activities, and how the ADAA works on your behalf. ADAA has always sought to develop meaningful, vital services for its membership, and continuing education of the highest caliber has always been one of those services.
