SEATTLE, Washington--Modern Dental Laboratory USA has been recognized by the Puget Sound Business Journal as one of the top corporate philanthropists in Washington state for the second year in a row.

The lab ranked 17th statewide for giving by a small company in 2010, improving upon its ranking in 2009 as the 21st most giving small company.

“During these tough economic times we’ve seen the needs of our community only increase,” said Patrick Tessier, CEO of Modern Dental Laboratory USA. “Our hearts go out to the communities we serve throughout the U.S., which is why despite these tough times we made it a priority to continue supporting local dental organizations and causes providing important needs.”

Modern Dental Laboratory USA’s heartfelt contributions included:

* Donated Dental Services, which connects patients with dentists and laboratories that provide dental services and restorations free of charge to vulnerable populations who would otherwise not be able to afford care. Modern Dental Laboratory USA fills restoration requests brought to its service centers.
* Washington Oral Health Foundation improves oral health by providing education and access to care. Modern Dental Laboratory USA created and hosted a fundraising event for the nonprofit called, “The After Party,” that brings the local dental community together in a night of giving. The After Party III will take place June 16, 2011, and is an official Pacific Northwest Dental Conference event.
* Seattle King County Dental Foundation’s goal is to eliminate dental pain and infection in King County residents who need assistance accessing dental care. Modern Dental Laboratory USA contributed financially to the cause.
* Northwest Harvest is Washington’s statewide hunger relief agency. During the 2010 holiday season, Modern Dental Laboratory USA made a donation in the name of its clients.
