MacPractice certification

LINCOLN, Nebraska--MacPractice has announced that MacPractice MD 4.1, MacPractice 20/20 4.1, MacPractice DC 4.1, and MacPractice DDS 4.1 are 2011/2012 compliant and were certified Jan. 5, 2011, as a Complete EHRs by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology.

CCHIT is an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The 2011-2012 criteria support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

“As the only ONC-ATCB 2011-2012 Certified Complete EHRs designed specifically for the Mac for physicians, dentists chiropractors, and optometrists, to my knowledge, MacPractice allows doctors who prefer the user-friendliness of the Mac platform and can demonstrate meaningful use to qualify for federal incentives intended to encourage the adoption of electronic medical records,” said Mark Hollis, president of MacPractice, an Apple developer of practice-management and clinical software on Macs and iPhones for medical, dental, chiropractic, and eye care offices.

“MacPractice calculates and submits selected clinical quality measures required for attestation.”

The ONC-ATCB 2011-2012 certification program tests and certifies that complete EHRs meet the 2011/2012 criteria and EHR modules meet one or more--but not all--of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services for either eligible provider or hospital technology.

The certification number for MacPractice MD 4.1, MacPractice 20/20 4.1, MacPractice DC 4.1, and MacPractice DDS 4.1 is CC-1112-769760-1. ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, nor does it guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.
