CHICAGO, Illinois--Stuart Froum, DDS, of New York, N.Y., was installed Oct. 29-Nov. 2, 2010, as secretary-treasurer of the American Academy of Periodontology Board of Trustees during the 96th annual meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii.
In addition to maintaining a private periodontal practice in Manhattan, Dr. Froum is a clinical professor of periodontics and implant dentistry and the Director of Clinical Research in the Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at New York University Dental Center. He is also a clinical assistant professor in periodontics at the Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine.
A member of the AAP since 1971, Dr. Froum has previously been active in many committees, including the Continuing Education Oversight Committee. He has also served on the Board of Trustees since 2005. Dr. Froum has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since 2004.
“Dr. Froum has already demonstrated his commitment to the AAP through his several years of service, particularly as a member of the Board,” said Dr. Don Clem, 2011 AAP president. “I am eager to witness Dr. Froum’s continued contributions to not only the academy, but also the specialty of periodontics as a whole.”
Dr. Froum received his dental degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 1970, and completed his periodontal residency at New York Veteran’s Administration Hospital in 1973.
